Steamed Minced Pork with Salted Egg

As a child, my grandma and mother would always make this as a dish during dinner.

Often, she would make extra for lunch the next day.

In fact, the steamed minced pork dish with only a bowl of freshly cooked white rice beats everything else!

Serving: 3-4 pax

Ingredients:

- Minced pork (large pack, approx. 350g)

- 1 pack salted egg (usually, a pack contains 4 eggs)

- 2 normal eggs

Taste:

- 1 tbsp Chinese soy sauce

- 1 tbsp sesame oil

- a pinch of white pepper

Method:

1. Into a heatproof bowl, add in the minced pork, normal eggs, and salted egg yolks. Mix them well together.

*I usually only use the yolks for the salted eggs as it will get too salty if you use the egg whites too. But if you want to use the whites, then use only 1 normal egg.

2. Add in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Mix well.

3. Put the bowl into the steamer and steam for 25-30 minutes.

To check whether it is cooked, use a chopstick and poke into the meat. If water oozes out, it is not fully cooked yet.

**If you do not have a steamer, do not fret! You can steam it over the stove. Use a large wok and fill it with 1/2 water and place the steamer rack in the wok. It works just as well.

It's optional, but you can add on more sesame oil and pepper on top before serving as well :)
