As classic and basic of a fried rice that you can get!
Once in a while, I'll crave for a meal that makes me think of childhood and this is one of it.
With only egg as a main ingredient, this plate or fried rice goes a long way :)
Ingredients:
- 1 bowl leftover rice
- 2 Eggs
- 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- White pepper
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Spring onion or coriander as topping
Method:
1. On a medium sized fry pan, first fry the garlic until light brown.
2. Add the eggs and fry until about 3/4 cooked (if you like your eggs a little soft). If you want them to have that fried egg sort of texture, fry until fully cooked.
3. Add the rice and mix well so that the egg and rice ratio has even out.
4. Add the soy sauce, white pepper, and sesame oil. For the soy sauce, it really depends on how thick you want it to taste...but usually I'd start with 1 tbsp and then go from there :)
5. Top is off with spring onions or coriander and it's ready to eat! :)
Best part about this recipe? It only takes 5 minutes, literally.
Also, you can make it more fancy by adding in chicken, sausage, carrots, etc.
:)
