Spaghetti Bolognese

A family-favorite, it's the classic Spaghetti

Bolognese!

Can be served by either pouring the sauce on freshly-cooked spaghetti, or by frying with butter! Goes well either ways :)

I tried to make this as budget-friendly as possible as beef is rather expensive :(

Serving: 3-4 pax

Ingredients:

- 1 pack minced beef (approx. 400g) RM19

- 2 cans Prego Traditional Pasta Sauce

RM11

- 2 onions, chopped RM1.50

- 1 garlic, chopped RM 1.00

- 2 tomatoes, diced RM1.50

- 1 pack San Remo Spaghetti RM5

Method:

1. Prep all the ingredients: wash and chop/dice them.

2. First, boil the spaghetti in water (with a pinch of salt) until cooked. Set aside.

3. In a large pot, add olive oil and fry the garlic and onions until fragrant.

*If you are using other ingredients such as mushrooms or greens, you can cook them in this step too.

4. Add in the minced beef and fry until cooked. Then, add in the Prego sauce and diced tomatoes.

5. Add in about 1 cup of water, some black peppers and salt for taste.

6. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.

7. Taste-test: you can add in more salt/pepper according to your preference.

Although there are seven steps to this recipe, it's actually really simple and this is definitely one of my go-to dinner on a busy day.

I'd usually make some extra for my lunch or dinner the next day, so it's a great recipe for meal prep too!

~ The cooked pasta will last maximum 3 days in the refrigerator, but the sauce can last up to 4-5 days if kept in the fridge, and up to 2 weeks in the freezer.

!! On a side note, if you can't eat beef, you can always opt for chicken.

Hope you liked this recipe! :)
