My favorite choice of pasta is Spaghetti Aglio Olio.
That is why I really wanted to be able to cook it at home as eating out often will be way out of my budget :/
Thankfully, I came across Donal Skehan's Spaghetti Aglio & Olio recipe (you can get it --> here). I started out by using his recipe and then tried to make my own version of it so that I can post it up here (due to originality and copyright issues).
Read on if you want to learn how to make this!
What you need:
- Beef Salami RM12
- 1 pack Spaghetti RM5.50
- 5-6 tbsp olive oil RM10 per small bottle
- Garlic, sliced
- Onions, sliced
- 1 tbsp chili flakes RM5 per pack
- Salt & pepper to taste
Method:
1. To a large fry pan, pour the olive oil and add in garlic. Then, bring to the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. At the same time, fill a large pot with water and bring to boil. Once the water boils, add some salt and start cooking the spaghetti.
2. Stir the spaghetti occasionally to prevent them from sticking to each other.
Once the garlic has begun to cook in the pan, add the chili flakes, onions, and beef
salami. Fry until the beef is fully cooked.
3. At this time, the spaghetti should have finished cooking as well. Turn the heat off (for both the pot and pan).
4. Drain the spaghetti as much as you can and add the cooked pasta to the fry pan.
5. Mix all of the ingredients well. If it's too dry, add some of the leftover water from the pot.
6. Add some salt and pepper according to your preference and it's ready to be served.
Similar to all of my other recipes, the amount of each ingredient may vary according to your taste so play around with it :)
Also, feel free to use other choice of meat or you can even use seafood instead! They taste great any ways :)
Hope you liked this recipe!
